The Work
Training, Logistics and Simulation (TLS) Integrated Engineering is looking for a first line leader responsible for a multi-disciplinary team that develops innovative training and logistics solutions for the Operational Baseline Integrated Product Team (IPT) on the F-35 Pilot Training Devices program.

Some responsibilities of the Operational Baseline IPT include implementing updates to the simulator's operating system, implementing new software security features including following the Risk Management Framework (RMF) JSIG and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and implementing Continuous Deployment and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The selected candidate will also have a role supporting the program to be defined upon being hired to best utilize their skillset.

As a key leader within our IPT Team you will:

Enable and manage the performance of talented, multi-disciplined engineering teams by setting and clearly communicating organizational vision, expectations, and objectives.
Ensure the integrity of engineering activity by employing both quantitative and qualitative management approaches and compliance with Command Media.
Collect and use data to make data-driven decisions.
Actively monitor staffing demand and take action to ensure sufficient supply.
Promote the continual identification and active management of teams' risks and opportunities.
Champion continuous improvement activities, especially those aligning to Digital Transformation.
Organize and facilitate the personal and career development of team members. Ensure team members are prepared with the training and skills to be successful within their teams. Create and execute organizational training plans.
Promote a "people first" culture and to resolve all personnel-related matters in a timely fashion.
Foster an innovative, creative work environment that values collaboration, out-of-the-box thinking and seeing the big-picture.

You are an accomplished Leader and Engineer with emphasis on systems engineering or software intensive systems. The ideal candidate will help continue to build a strong culture with dynamic energy and focus on working across engineering disciplines to assure the highest quality product possible. The ability to rapidly collect and apply lessons learned while growing talent within the team is paramount to success for this role and overall program goals.

Note: This position will require the selected candidate to obtain a Secret level U.S. government security clearance with Lockheed Martin, within a reasonable time after starting the position. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 5 or more years of engineering experience
Experience working collaboratively with Program Management, Finance, and Contracts organizations
Knowledgeable in Systems/Software Engineering processes and tools
Experience across the System Development Life Cycle
Experience planning and coordinating systems/software development in a team-oriented environment
Understanding of DevSecOps Practices inclusive of Agile Product Development leveraging Scrum & Kanban

Desired skills

Previous leadership experience, including mentoring / coaching to support the technical and professional development of others
Experience in Systems Engineering, Complex Systems Integration & Test, and Model-Based Engineering (MBE) processes, principles, and tools
Understanding of program, functional, and process metrics including Earned Value Management (EVM)
Experience with implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or an understanding of IaC concepts
Background in DevSecOps and familiarity with tools like GitLab, Ansible, and Docker

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $115,500 - $217,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
