Job Title: IT Project Coordinator
Location: Quincy, MA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months (Tentative)
Position Overview:
A Massachusetts-based public sector organization is seeking a highly motivated IT Project Coordinator to support multiple IT application teams within the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). DDS provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, to support full community integration and engagement.
The IT Project Coordinator will assist in managing technology projects related to case management, clinical, and claiming systems, and help ensure alignment across integrated business processes. Working closely with a team of experienced IT project managers, the coordinator will play a key role in supporting planning, execution, tracking, and delivery of critical initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide coordination and support throughout the full project lifecycle.
Assist project managers with tracking issues and risks, helping to eliminate roadblocks.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
Follow up on task statuses across IT teams and escalate delays or blockers as needed.
Prepare and maintain documentation in agency tools and systems.
Review project schedules and milestones in collaboration with internal teams.
Help create and manage project documentation such as:
Project charters/scopes
Project plans
Backlog lists and user stories
Status reports
Operational checklists
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in IT environments.
Experience creating and executing project plans and schedules aligned with defined objectives.
Familiarity with PMI project management concepts.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Adaptable and able to meet changing priorities or program needs.
Effective in managing work in matrixed, high-pressure environments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience handling escalated issues and facilitating dispute resolution with appropriate escalation to leadership when needed.
Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Government or healthcare industry experience is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the software development life cycle (SDLC) is highly desirable.
