Role: Business Data Analyst
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Top Skills: Reporting Tools, Communication Skills, Data Warehousing, Jira, Confluence
Main 3 Responsibilities:
- Data and Reporting Cognos Reports (used by 10s of thousands of people) gathering data on how reports are used, how they work, etc.
- Data Integrations Bulk of the work. Use hundreds or thousands of applications throughout enterprise. Data driven org.
- Build Data Products Units have their own analytical capabilities.
Typical Day:
Typical Day is scheduling meetings, running meetings, gathering requirements, documenting (using AI soon), using JIRA, Confluence, providing status updates, identifying issues/roadblocks.
Skills:
- Knowledge of SQL (does not need to be an expert), ensure data is clean and easy to read.
- Knowledge of reporting tool is helpful but does not have to have Cognos or Tableau necessarily. Must have data warehouse experience/knowledge.
- Currently use: Informatica, SQL, Big Query, Cognos and Tableau.
- Strong understanding of data management principles: models, queries, & reporting.
- A significant portion of the work relates to Data Integration, Data Marts and Enterprise Data Warehousing.
