RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Junior System Administrator in Boca Raton, FL.
Summary:
We're hiring a Junior System Administrator to lead daily IT support operations and collaborate across infrastructure teams. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation and emerging leadership skills who's ready to take ownership of helpdesk performance, drive process improvements, and grow into a mid-level systems role.
What You'll Do:
* Junior System Administrator will oversee helpdesk operations, ensuring timely resolution of support tickets for both onsite and remote users
* Lead daily stand-ups, prioritize ticket queues, and enforce SLAs
* Coach and mentor helpdesk staff, conduct performance reviews, and support team development
* Act as the final escalation point for complex technical issues
* Participate in endpoint deployments, patching, and lifecycle management
* As a Junior System Administrator, you will collaborate with Systems, Network, and Database teams to support cross-functional IT initiatives
* Assist with server administration, basic networking, and infrastructure tasks
* Maintain documentation, refine support procedures, and generate performance reports
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience/certifications
* 3-5 years in helpdesk or desktop support, with 1-2 years of team leadership or coordination
* Experience in regulated industries (insurance, finance, healthcare) is a plus
* Proficiency in Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking (DHCP, DNS, VPN)
* Familiarity with ITSM platforms (Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk, etc.)
* Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
* Bonus: scripting skills, endpoint security tools, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
