Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced NetSuite Developer with Insurance domain exposure to design, develop, and support NetSuite ERP solutions that power insurance finance, billing, commissions, and regulatory reporting. This role requires strong hands-on NetSuite development skills combined with an understanding of insurance business processes, compliance requirements, and system integrations.
The ideal candidate has worked in P&C, Life, Health, or Reinsurance environments and understands how NetSuite supports policy billing, premium accounting, commissions, GL postings, and financial close processes.
Key Responsibilities
NetSuite Development & Customization
- Design and develop NetSuite solutions using SuiteScript 2.x (Client, User Event, Scheduled, RESTlet).
- Customize NetSuite modules to support insurance finance operations, including:
- Premium billing & collections
- Policy-related financial postings
- Commission calculations and payouts
- Revenue recognition and reconciliations
- Build custom records, workflows (SuiteFlow), forms, and validations to align with insurance-specific workflows.
Integrations & Data Flow
- Design and support integrations between NetSuite and:
- Policy Administration Systems (Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar)
- Billing platforms
- Payment gateways
- Data warehouses or reporting systems
- Develop and maintain integrations using SuiteTalk, REST/SOAP APIs, RESTlets, and middleware (Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft).
- Handle data imports, migrations, and reconciliations for insurance financial data.
Reporting, Controls & Compliance
- Build and optimize Saved Searches, SuiteAnalytics reports, and dashboards for finance and compliance teams.
- Support period close, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure system changes adhere to SOX, audit controls, and insurance regulatory standards.
System Support & Optimization
- Troubleshoot NetSuite performance, script issues, and integration failures.
- Support NetSuite releases, sandbox testing, and production deployments.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve billing accuracy, financial close, and reconciliation processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, IT, and Insurance Operations teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide clear technical documentation and solution designs.
- Act as a technical advisor for NetSuite best practices in an insurance environment.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on NetSuite development experience.
- Strong expertise in SuiteScript 2.x.
- Experience with NetSuite integrations (SuiteTalk, REST/SOAP, RESTlets).
- Advanced skills in Saved Searches, Workflows, Custom Records.
- Strong JavaScript and ERP data modeling knowledge.
- Insurance Domain Experience (Mandatory)
- Prior experience in Insurance or Financial Services.
