Mid-Level Data Scientist - MS&B

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers' division is hiring a Data Scientist (Level 3) as we grow our division-aligned Business Analytics team to develop advanced analytical solutions aligned to division and program objectives and support data-driven decision making. In joining this team, you will have a critical part in the division's analytical transformation including descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics development and deployment. This role will be based in Tukwila, WA.
Position Responsibilities:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

- Designs information models, dashboards, technologies and methodologies that meet business objectives
- Combines programming, SQL skills, best practices, strategic decision-making capabilities and business expertise to deliver efficient and scalable Business Intelligence solutions to improve business productivity and business outcomes
- Data Preprocessing and Cleaning: Ensure the quality and accuracy of large volumes of structured and unstructured data using SQL
- Develop ETL pipelines, ensuring high-quality data capture
- Knowledgeable of data security concepts, practices, trends, and information
- Supports establishment of strategic direction of diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics for the division, including identifying opportunities for analytical solution development
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions to facilitate accomplishment of work goals by understanding data requirements and aligning with business objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders and internal customer to ensure follow up action for issue resolution
- Clearly articulate technical concepts and information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Effectively train individuals on how to utilize analytical tools, ensuring clear understanding of the information
- Ability to understand the big picture and the interrelationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, business or technical field
- 3+ years of experience with analytics tools including: Tableau, SQL, R, and Python
- Experience with Cloud Solutions (Azure, AWS, Google)
- Experience automating and troubleshooting application deployments using CI/CD pipelines
- 3+ years of experience collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources, as well as interpreting data and presenting analysis and recommendations to management
- 3+ years of experience leading/supporting data analytics, development of new tools and/or information technology
- 3+ years of experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing and analyzing data for a cross-functional team
- 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with JavaScript and HTML
- Experience using GitLab for version control, code repository management, and project tracking
- Experience in the aerospace or defense industry
- Strong problem solving, communication, and presentation skills
