A Day in the Life:
- Develop and integrate automation equipment and control systems to improve manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, RIA, ISO, GMP).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and controls issues to minimize downtime.
- Review and approve vendor documentation and validation protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve key performance metrics.
- Implement and maintain SCADA, DPM, and data collection systems to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Drive process improvements and balanced practices through automation upgrades.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as needed.
Keys to Success:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in automation, electrical, and controls engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500/5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, and Maple Systems HMI.
- Proficiency with CODESYS and/or Beckhoff TwinCAT.
- Expertise in developing, modifying, and optimizing PLC/HMI programs for automated systems.
- Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS Electrical to develop and outline electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience optimizing processes to reduce cycle times and improve equipment reliability.
- Familiarity with safety systems such as PLCs, e-stops, and light curtains, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Solid understanding of motion control systems, robotics, and electro-mechanical equipment.
- Familiarity with computer networking principles in industrial automation.
- Shown success in equipment installation, validation, and optimization within timelines and budgets.
- Collaborative experience working with multi-functional teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Exposure to GMP, ISO 9001, or ISO 13485 standards is desirable.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW and SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition) is beneficial.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or Practical Process Improvement tools is advantageous.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills for collaboration with diverse teams, vendors, and contractors.
