Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer V to join our team in San Diego, California. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience and will be responsible for conducting system performance and architectural analysis. This includes CPU/MIPS, bus bandwidth and latency assessments, user experience/game performance evaluations, and memory utilization studies for current and upcoming chipsets. The role involves utilizing performance tools to analyze load patterns, identify performance constraints, and evaluate performance KPIs across various VR SoC subsystems. The candidate will also work on enhancing performance and memory usage through software optimizations, SW/HW partitioning adjustments, and other techniques. Familiarity with lab setups, power measurement equipment, and SoC design is essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct system performance and architectural analysis for CPU/MIPS, bus bandwidth, latency, and memory utilization.
  • Evaluate user experience and game performance for current and upcoming chipsets.
  • Utilize performance tools to analyze load patterns and identify performance constraints within the system.
  • Evaluate performance KPIs of various VR SoC subsystems, including CPU, GPU, NSP, memory, camera, display, and video.
  • Optimize performance and memory usage through software optimizations, SW/HW partitioning, and cache/TCM sizing modifications.
  • Set up and manage lab equipment, including power measurement tools such as DAQs.
  • Leverage knowledge of SoC design, voltage rails, power domains, and clocks.
  • Utilize and adapt simulators and performance/power models, particularly full-system models.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in system performance and architectural analysis.
  • Experience in multi-layer, use-case driven power modeling of hardware.
  • Familiarity with performance and power tools.
  • Experience with Qualcomm SoC.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience dealing with ambiguity in a fast-changing consumer electronics field.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience using Power/Android Performance tools such as Perfetto and NIDAQ.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.

Pay Range: $90 - $100
