Job Description

At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We're committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Health Management Software Architect to support our Government Training and Health Management Software Engineering team located in Hazelwood, MO, Oklahoma City, OK, Plano, TX or Ridley Park, PA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

This role will spearhead the strategic and technical direction for health management and data analytics solutions across the organization. The Senior Software Architect will drive innovation and ensure alignment between divergent program technical requirements to create a cohesive software solution that can be leveraged for future product lines.

The field of predictive analytics is rapidly evolving, and we aim to transition the existing product lines from reactive to proactive health management. This requires an integrated vision that thoughtfully deprecates and converges disparate health management solutions into a unified product line that can be composed to service current and next-generation military platforms.

In this role, the software architect will be responsible for outlining the technical strategy for a software platform supporting a portfolio generating over $20 million in annual revenue and projecting significant growth. This portfolio spans a diverse suite of existing and next-generation military platforms, including the F-47, T-7A, F-15, F/A-18, V-22, CH-47, AH-47, MH-139, P-8, AWACS, KC-46, and next-generation platforms.

This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers, including Government Training Engineering (GTE) and Information Technology & Data Science (IT&DS), through a culture of deep collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Software Platform Design: Oversee the design, architecture, and development of a data integration and analytics platform to provide a common environment that enables Boeing and its partners to manage, analyze, and derive insights from large and complex platform datasets.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure the software architecture aligns with Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) software objectives and integrates seamlessly with the BGS Government solutions.
  • Technology Solution Identification: Assess technology solutions for data integration (ETL capabilities e.g. Apache Airflow), data storage (PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Amazon S3), big data processing (Apache Spark), data analytics & machine learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.), data visualization (Apache Superset), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), and software web development solutions (Angular, TypeScript, Python, RESTful APIs, etc.).
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure software solutions and data governance policies comply with relevant regulations and standards including ITAR/EAR, CUI, and data classification restrictions.
  • Software Design Practice Implementation: Lead the development, establishment, monitoring and improvement of software processes, architectural documentation, tool selecting, and key performance metrics to support high quality, repeatable, and understandable software system design.
  • Technical Debt Management: Actively seek approaches to reduce technical debt and reduce future debt creation.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Partner with software engineering leadership, Information Technology, Software Quality Assurance (SQE), and business counterparts to ensure software solutions meet business needs, quality standards, and information security requirements.
  • New Business Opportunity Creation: Assess and refine the software technical roadmap in the context of developing solutions to new customer needs and emerging business opportunities for the business unit by ensuring all technical decisions are aligned to the long-range business plan
  • Continuous Research: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform architectural decisions and drive innovation.
  • Mentorship & Team Building: Mentor early-career engineers and guide the development of skills within the team, fostering a culture of openness, innovation, and technical excellence
