Within these programs, you will participate in the design, development, verification and deployment of complex new software and hardware simulation systems.
The Tb&S (Testbed and Simulation) Product Line is seeking a highly motivated ASIC & Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) Design Engineer with a strong interest in hardware design, test and software scripting. This position will support full project life cycles of testbed products, including Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWILs) testbeds.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Support the development of FPGA architecture, standards, development and review processes
Developing FPGA cores and images
o Including high speed interfaces (SerDes, Gigabit Ethernet, etc)
Create FPGA test scripts using scripting languages and troubleshoot hardware issues
Work with software teams to integrate FPGA with driver and simulation software
System-level understanding of our simulation products
Reviewing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and developing Concept of Operations (ConOps)
Understanding TB&S testbed architecture and developing signal channelization lists, wire diagrams, and top level designs
Troubleshooting design equipment
Collaboration across the different Tb&S teams and program teams
Effectively communicate and coordinate with software/hardware leads within the Product Line.
Secondary electronics/electrical engineering duties may be asked to support programs as required:
o Designing custom harness and cable designs
o Designing Custom Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA)
o Engineering Liaison with technicians during fabrication
o Writing and executing Equipment Functional Checkout Procedures (EFCP)
Basic Qualifications
Experience with Very High Speed Integrated Circuit (VHSIC) Hardware Description language (VHDL)
VHDL Simulators (eg QuestaSim, Vivado Simulator, etc)
Experience with configuration control system like Git / GitLab
Experience in full life cycle product development
This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired skills
High speed (greater than or equal to 1Gbit/s) video signal interfaces and integration experience.
Gigabit Ethernet design and integration experience.
Experience with resolving synthesis/implementation issues and timing failures.
