Support Services Technician
Description:
- The Support Services Technician is responsible for software and hardware support (Tiers 1 and 2), with the more senior resources being responsible for complex Tier 2 support tasks.
- Provides technical advice, guidance and informal training to end users using hardware and software programs.
- Troubleshoots and restores routine technical service and equipment problems by analyzing, identifying and diagnosing faults and symptoms using established processes and procedures.
- Performs root cause analysis and develops checklists for typical problems.
- Recommends procedures and controls for problem prevention.
- Maintains knowledge database and call tracking database to enhance quality and timeliness of problem resolutions.
- Works in a team setting, sharing information and assisting others with calls.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on technical experience supporting hardware and software in a desk-side or IT support setting
- Experience with computer imaging, setup, and configuration, including laptops and desktops
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, Zendesk, or similar platforms
- Basic understanding of computer systems and troubleshooting techniques, including root cause analysis and issue documentation
- Ability to follow established processes for diagnosing and resolving Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical issues
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, user permissions, and device configurations
- Exposure to AutoPilot or similar tools for device provisioning is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide and support end users
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn, share knowledge, and grow technical skillsets
- Adaptable and coachable, open to feedback and capable of growing into more advanced responsibilities over time
