DevOps Engineer Firewall & Regulatory Readiness*

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with Firewall experience to support a new Regulatory Readiness initiative, focused on the Firewall Recertification Tool. This role plays a key part in ensuring Firewall and BASTION flow recertification in alignment with SOL/DOR compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across DevOps, automation, observability, and production operations within regulated enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and enhance the Firewall Recertification Tool for Regulatory Readiness initiatives.

  • Ensure Firewall and BASTION flow recertification to meet SOL/DOR compliance standards.

  • Work within an Agile delivery framework, collaborating with cross-functional engineering, infrastructure, and security teams.

  • Design, develop, and operate API integrations and microservices supporting regulatory workflows.

  • Build, manage, and troubleshoot Kafka ingestion pipelines, including performance tuning and optimization.

  • Implement and maintain ELK-based logging, monitoring, and observability solutions.

  • Support production environments, ensuring stability, performance, and audit readiness.

  • Develop and maintain automation using Ansible playbooks and scripting.

  • Perform Unix/Linux (RHEL) system administration and operational support.

  • Monitor and support OpenShift container platforms and network monitoring solutions.

  • Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment and readiness.

Required Skills & Qualifications Core Engineering & DevOps
  • Strong experience working in Agile methodologies

  • Proven background across design, development, and operations

  • Hands-on expertise in Java and Python

  • Strong experience with API integration and microservices architecture

Observability & Messaging
  • Experience with ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)

  • Strong working knowledge of Kafka, including connectivity, ingestion pipelines, and troubleshooting

  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability frameworks

Automation & Platforms
  • Proficiency with Ansible playbooks and automation frameworks

  • Strong Unix/Linux (RHEL) administration skills

  • Experience working with OpenShift container platforms

  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools

ITSM & Operations
  • Experience using ServiceNow for incident, change, and problem management

  • Strong exposure to supporting enterprise production environments

Experience Requirement
  • This role requires strong, hands-on experience performing the above responsibilities in large-scale, regulated enterprise environments, with demonstrated senior-level ownership across DevOps, firewall operations, and regulatory readiness initiatives.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Firewall governance, BASTION hosts, or network security controls

  • Prior exposure to regulatory, audit, or compliance-driven programs

  • Financial services or highly regulated industry experience
