Job Title: Systems Analyst 3 (ETL Developer)
Location: 701 W 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751 (Hybrid - Onsite & Telework)
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (may include weekends and holidays with pre-approval)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst 3 (ETL Developer) to support the design, implementation, and enhancement of an enterprise data integration hub. This role requires a highly skilled individual with strong expertise in ETL development, data modeling, and analytics, working within an Agile development environment.
The candidate will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including data acquisition, transformation, visualization, and automation. The goal is to support performance metrics, business intelligence, and data integration needs for HHSC.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and automate ETL workflows using Informatica IICS, IDMC, or PowerCenter
Acquire and integrate data from various sources (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Excel, Access, PDF)
Develop optimized and complex SQL scripts for dimensional modeling
Implement data transformation and validation logic
Collaborate with the Data Engineering Team and Architects on solution design
Enhance a Java-based web portal serving Tableau dashboards
Participate in Agile sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
Document technical specifications, workflows, and mockups
Ensure security and compliance when handling PII/PHI data
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
8+ years of experience with Informatica (IICS, IDMC, or PowerCenter) to develop ETL workflows
8+ years of experience acquiring and integrating data from multiple technologies (Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, PDF)
8+ years of experience writing fast and efficient complex SQL scripts
8+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst on data analytics or data warehousing projects
8+ years of experience with technical writing, documentation, and diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Erwin, Microsoft Office Suite)
8+ years of experience planning and delivering software platforms across multiple business units
8+ years of experience developing scripts using Python
8+ years of experience on Agile development teams
8+ years of experience with JIRA software
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong oral and written communication skills
6+ years of experience writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code using best practices
4+ years of experience with security principles applied to healthcare data
4+ years of experience with modern business intelligence platforms like Tableau or Power BI
Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks effectively
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
3+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
2+ years of experience with HHS agencies or working with PII/PHI data
2+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and APIs
2+ years of experience designing or working with REST/SOAP Web Services
2+ years of experience developing interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau
