Job Description
Are you ready to bring your CNC Supervisory/Manufacturing skills to a team that values precision and innovation? At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we're dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we're looking for skilled CNC Shop Supervisors like you!
What You'll Do:

- \nCNC Operation: Set up full production cycle and operate CNC Lathe machines for tasks such as turning, drilling, bar feeding, and live tooling. (Hyundai, Mori, Yugi, HAAS) \n
- \nDepartment Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with time-keeping and performance management procedures. \n
- \nEmployee Management: Oversee employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support team development and productivity. \n
- \nTraining & Development: Assist with onboarding and training of new employees, as well as provide ongoing education and skill development for the team. \n
- \nOrder Management: Expedite and prioritize shop orders through the department to meet production schedules and customer requirements. \n
- \nCross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with management and other departments to ensure smooth manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes. \n
- \nWorkplace Safety & Maintenance: Ensure the team maintains machines and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner, addressing safety concerns promptly. \n
- \nProcess Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. \n
- \nProblem-Solving: Address and resolve production or personnel issues promptly to avoid disruptions to operations. \n
- \nCompliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations. \n
What You'll Bring:
- \n
- \nSupervisory Experience: Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment. \n
- \nTechnical Expertise: Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas: welding, metal fabrication, or machining, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints. \n
- \nLeadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members to achieve individual and collective goals. \n
- Shop Floor Presence: Ability to maintain a consistent and active presence on the shop floor, spending approximately 2/3 of the shift overseeing operations. \n
- \nCommunication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with shop employees, office staff, supervisors, managers, and executives. \n
- \nAdaptability: Able to adjust to changing priorities and unexpected challenges while maintaining productivity and focus. \n
- \nTeam Collaboration: Excellent team player with the ability to work well with others and foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment. \n
- \nSafety Leadership: Strong commitment to workplace safety, with a demonstrated ability to promote and enforce safety standards and practices. \n
- \nPerformance Management: Proficiency in performance management processes, including creating plans of action and conducting employee evaluations. \n
- \nDetail Orientation: Highly detail-oriented, ensuring quality and precision in all tasks and responsibilities. \n
- \nTechnical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software. \n
- \nMulti-Tasking: Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively throughout the shift. \n
- \nMath Skills: Average math skills, with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English and complete logs, documents, and reports accurately. \n
Your Schedule:
- 2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday, 2:30 PM - 1:00 AM - 4 - 10 Hour Shifts / Enjoy 3 Day Weekends!\n
