Job Details

The Enterprise GIS and CAD Team Manager is a hands-on technical expert in charge of supervising and managing a geospatial team responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the Enterprise GIS system; oversees and supports the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and 3D Printing programs; and basic software maintenance of CAD systems. Areas of responsibility include ensuring reliability and availability of enterprise GIS and CAD applications; reviewing GIS, 3D Printing, and UAV system requirements and implementation strategies; maintaining GIS data to meet Metropolitan needs; ensuring compatibility with other Metropolitan IT systems and standards; facilitating collaboration between units in IT and the business as a whole; management of GIS, CAD, UAV, and 3D printing service delivery; research, planning, and budgeting software, hardware, and professional services investments; and researching technology innovations to determine potential application to Metropolitan business needs.





Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday/Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.





Hybrid: Metropolitan?s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

Travel: This position will require travel to various District facilities throughout the service area, sometimes requiring overnight stay in the project area.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



Education and Experience: Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which two years must have been in a project management, supervisory, or lead capacity; OR an advanced degree from an accredited college or university and six years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which two years must have been in a project management, supervisory, or lead capacity.





Relevant Experience is defined as: Managing GIS staff, programs, or systems; GIS system implementation and administration, including spatial databases; experience with Esri?s ArcGIS Enterprise technology stack and ArcGIS Pro; integrating sensor data into GIS products, including UAV, LiDAR, and other remote sensing sources; and integrating GIS data with other enterprise systems (CMMS, ERP, CAD, and more).





CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver?s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
