Job Description

Goldman Sachs is initiating a substantial effort to modernize its payments platform. As part of the broader strategy for Goldman Sachs to digitize its
operations and provide its financial services and capabilities "as a Service", the payments platform is looking to transform its premise-based infrastructure
to a set of nimble, reliable, and scalable services designed natively for operating in the public cloud.

Transformation starts with the people: the talent whose efforts must be focused and harnessed to make transformation possible and sustainable.

With this philosophy at the forefront of our approach, the Payments platform team recognizes the need to uplift and modernize the skillsets of its staff while
delivering value to its stakeholders and customers. To assist our existing engineers we are looking for full-time employees or consultants that can bring
specific cloud engineering discipline in addition to some baseline cloud development experience.
Successful candidates would not only enable us to deliver on our objectives but change the habits and manner in which we develop going forward.

Baseline Engineering Experience
3-5 years (for Associate, 2-3 for Analysts) of software engineering experience using a mainstream programming language. Java is preferred.
Candidate should not only demonstrate deep programming expertise but also have a successful track record of designing and delivering
applications and services and maintaining them.
Proficiency in Spring Framework and its eco-system is essential.
Experience with microservices development and RESTful APIs.
5+ years (for Associate, 3+ for Analysts) working with databases. Working proficiency in SQL on a mainstream relational database along with
experience in non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Redis or Cassandra required.
2+ years of hands-on, public cloud experience. AWS or Google Cloud Platform experience preferred. Will consider less experience for the right candidate and track
record.
Experience working in an Agile/Lean development methodology with a Security-Developer-Operations (SecDevOps) mindset. Looking for
engineers with a keen drive for rapid, high quality value delivery.
Experience in complete SDLC management with GitLab along with repository and container registry management.

Specializations of Interest
Cloud-native Engineering
Deep expertise and passion for designing, developing, and releasing software as container orchestrated and/or server-less workloads on AWS
and/or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with Kubernetes and the related CNCF ecosystem will be considered a strong advantage.
Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform server-less portfolios (e.g., AWS Lambda/Google Cloud Platform Functions, AWS ECS Fargate or EKS/Google Cloud Platform GKE. AWS
DynamoDB/Google Cloud Platform BigTable, et cetera) will be considered a strong advantage.
Ability and desire to teach, present, and work side-by-side with fellow software engineers in analyzing and designing the best fit solution for either
container orchestrated and/or server-less workloads.
