Job Overview:

The engineer will be working in a project team environment, responsible for completing project tasks assigned by the Project Team Lead Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Understanding project requirements and completing all duties assigned by the Project Team Lead Engineer.
  • Work in a team environment, participating in meetings, and interfacing with peers both within the team and in other disciplines.
  • Initial duties may include creating or updating project documentation such as equipment lists, philosophies, specifications (with guidance from senior engineers), assisting in procurement activities and reviewing documentation for compliance with project requirements.
  • Willing to travel to supplier fabrication sites or project plant sites for testing of telecommunications systems, to gain hands-on experience.
  • Raising concerns and making suggestions for improvement (and possibly participating in implementing improvement ideas).
  • Always complying with McDermott health and safety practices.


QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering field.
  • Familiar with field telecommunication systems, including voice, data, networking, cctv, access control and radio systems.
  • Strong analytical and mathematic skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and professionalism.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn and accept improvement feedback.
  • Experience with using MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Eligible to work in the United States (citizen or ).

Preferred Qualifications and Education:
  • Experience in communications cabling and infrastructure including fiber optics, structured cabling and general passive infrastructure (panels, enclosures, racks and cabinets).
  • Ability to interpret and understand network architectures to develop equipment requirements for various networks.
  • Looking for a entry level engineer 0-1 years of experience for the Houston Instrumentation, Controls and Telecommunications Department to grow with us and be part of our future.
