Job Title: SAP Senior Developer / Consulting Director (SAP Architect Working Title)
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Columbia, SC 29210 Remote 50% (Onsite Tuesday Thursday every other week)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Architect to lead a Brownfield upgrade from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA on RISE. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing end-to-end SAP technical solutions, guiding migration strategy, and ensuring that people, processes, and systems are prepared for future modernization efforts.
Scope of the Project:
Participate in an SAP Brownfield Migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA with RISE.
Design scalable, secure, and high-performance SAP landscapes.
Oversee remediation of custom enhancements, Fiori apps, APIs, and interfaces (PI/PO, CPI, IDocs).
Ensure compliance with SAP best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with functional, BASIS, security, infrastructure, and development teams.
Support Architecture Review Board activities and produce Architecture Decision Records.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
Lead technical design and architecture of SAP S/4HANA solutions.
Oversee migration of SAP ECC and associated components using tools such as SUM DMO and Conversion Cockpit.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system sizing, performance optimization, and integration design.
Guide custom code remediation, interface updates, and Fiori/UI adjustments for migration.
Review and approve implementation partner deliverables.
Participate in project planning, timeline estimation, and risk management.
Coordinate with SAP on RISE implementation strategy.
Required Skills:
10+ years of experience with SAP technologies, including at least 4+ years in S/4HANA projects.
Deep understanding of SAP NetWeaver, ABAP programming, SAP HANA DB architecture, and SAP Fiori/UI.
Proven experience as an SAP Technical Architect on a full-cycle S/4HANA implementation.
Hands-on experience with S/4HANA migration methodologies and tools.
Proficiency in SAP integration technologies (PI/PO, CPI, RFC, BAPIs, REST, SOAP).
Strong knowledge of SAP landscape architecture, sizing, high availability, and disaster recovery.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Education / Certifications:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform).
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Experience with SAP RISE.
Hands-on experience with smartShift for SAP code remediation.
Experience with SAP BW, analytics, and reporting tools.
Archiving knowledge with SAP ILM.
Experience in regulated environments (Federal or State Government).
SAP S/4HANA Technical Architecture certification.
Experience with SAP bolt-on or third-party tools (e.g., BSI, Vertex, Adobe Document Services, Highland OnBase).
Experience with Tricentis Test Automation.
