Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Permanent Civil Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and management of infrastructure projects, with a focus on wastewater, sewer systems, and storm water management. This role requires a deep understanding of civil engineering principles and the ability to use AutoCAD software to create detailed, accurate designs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role and a strong commitment to sustainable, efficient engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and oversee construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects including but not limited to wastewater treatment plants, sewer systems, and storm water management facilities.
2. Use AutoCAD software to create detailed designs and plans for infrastructure projects.
3. Collaborate with a team of engineers and other professionals on large-scale projects, ensuring all designs are accurate and compliant with regulations and standards.
4. Conduct site inspections and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings etc.) to plan and design projects.
5. Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
6. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the design, implementation, and maintenance phases of projects.
8. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and technologies to ensure solutions are current and competitive.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on wastewater, sewer systems, and storm water management.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
4. Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, including geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, and structural engineering.
5. Proven experience with project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
8. Ability to work in a team and to collaborate effectively with other professionals.
9. Commitment to sustainable, efficient engineering solutions and continuous professional development.
