Job Details
Job Title: SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)
Location: California / Onsite
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and MySQL administration, performance tuning, and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions in both on-premise and cloud (Azure) environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server and MySQL databases.
- Perform database backups, restores, and recovery across environments.
- Implement and manage HA/DR solutions (Always On, Log Shipping, Replication).
- Conduct performance tuning and query optimization (PTO).
- Monitor database health and performance using appropriate tools.Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions via Active Directory integration.
- Support Azure SQL databases and related cloud services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents efficiently.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support deployments and system upgrades.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA (with MySQL exposure preferred).
- Expertise in performance tuning, backups/restores, and HA/DR.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
- Knowledge of Azure SQL, PowerShell scripting, and automation.
- Certifications such as MCTS, MCITP, or MVP are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
