We are in search of a Linux Service Desk Administrator to support foundational aspects of the enterprise's HPC infrastructure and user-facing services utilizing Linux desktop operating systems.
  • Conduct routine system maintenance checks
  • Perform hardware and software installations
  • Assist in troubleshooting software (including applications), hardware technical issues (including peripherals) utilizing ServiceNow ticketing system
  • Responsible for documenting standard operating procedures and assisting higher-level administrators in larger projects.
  • Conduct regular security patching, assessments and scans on Linux operating systems using tools like Tenable Nessus, identifying potential vulnerabilities and mitigating those vulnerabilities.
  • Manage user home directories, accounts and groups efficiently using Active Directory and Centrify, ensuring proper access controls and adherence to security policies.
  • Utilize LDAP for more advanced directory service operations.
  • Engage actively with network team, storage team, server team, and security operations team; facilitating information flow and integrated problem-solving.
  • Implement standard security mitigation techniques for identified vulnerabilities, ensuring system integrity.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • TS/SCI with appropriate poly
  • Ability to work on site 100% of the time
  • 1-5 years experience in help desk, account management and desktop system administration or a related area.
  • Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Degree can be substituted with additional 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Exposure to CentOS/RHEL, VMware Horizon, secure DNS.
  • Candidates should be familiar with systems monitoring tools such as Nagios and Grafana, data processing using Splunk, and basic command-line scripting.
  • Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) principles is a plus.
  • Certification Requirements:
    • CompTIA Security+ CE (required)
    • *CompTIA Linux+ or equivalent certification
      • May be obtained within 6 months after initial hire date.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
