Position Title: CNC Machine Programmer III (A Shift & C Shift)

Location: Kent, WA
Contract Type: Contract
Pay Rate:

  • A Shift: $58/hr

  • C Shift: $58/hr

Shifts Available:

  • A Shift: Monday Thursday, 5:00 AM 3:30 PM (40 hrs/week)

  • C Shift: Friday Sunday, 5:00 AM 5:30 PM (36 hrs/week)
    Overtime: Available and encouraged

Position Description:

Protingent Staffing has exciting contract opportunities for CNC Machine Programmer III roles with our aerospace-focused client in Kent, WA. These roles require highly skilled programmers to develop NC code and support complex machining operations on multi-axis CNC equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program CNC Mills, Lathes, Multi-axis mills/lathes, and VTLs to meet engineering and manufacturing specs.

  • Develop machining strategies from design data to finished parts.

  • Create and manage detailed setup sheets.

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturing teams, and machinists.

  • Design custom tooling and fixtures when needed.

  • Provide DFMA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly) feedback.

  • Drive continuous improvement in machining practices and administrative processes.

  • Conduct product acceptance reviews according to company policies.

  • Maintain strict configuration control of programs and job records.

  • Safely work within a manufacturing environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in CNC/NC programming.

  • Strong blueprint reading, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994.

  • Experience in tool/fixture design and cutter selection.

  • Proficient in feed and speed calculations.

  • Hands-on experience with machining Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

  • Familiarity with hand tools and PC-based programming systems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong professional ethics and ability to contribute to an inclusive workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MasterCam X7 or newer

  • Unigraphics NX

  • Vericut or other CNC verification tools

  • Prior machinist experience and ability to set up/operate CNC equipment

  • Experience programming for:

    • 5+ axis machines

    • Large-format CNC machines

    • Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs)

    • Dual channel mill-turn equipment

ITAR Requirement:
