Title: Battery Packaging Engineer (Li-On Battery Cells/Thermal Cells)

Location: Endicott, NY - ONSITE 100%
Length of Contract: 1-2 years+ - will convert to FT if interested.
Ideal Start date: April 2024
No Clearance required.

Need: Specifically need a Battery Packaging Engineer who has strong understanding of packaging for Li-On Battery cells and knows how to propagate thermal cells. Ideally in an avionics environment, BUT, AUTOMOTIVE LI-ON Battery expert will be ok.

Requirements:
Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 10+ years related experience.
Must have keen interest in solving highly complex design challenges with battery cell packaging.
MUST have Experience in resolving Thermal Runaway, Cell Venting, Charging/Discharging Thermal Impacts, ect.
Knowledge of vendor capabilities that have innovative techniques within the field of resolving battery cell technical challenges.
Understanding of Thermal/Structural analysis and design impacts.
Understanding of lightweight materials (i.e composites) and manufacturing processes.
Requires excellent communication skills. Support schedule, budget, and technical discussions with manufacturers, customers, engineers, and all levels of management.
Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities, and thrive in a fast paced, schedule driven environment.
Aptitude to eectively lead a small team to a desired hardware solution that resolves complex design.
Establish and maintain eective relationships with stakeholders across the functions, from suppliers to XXXXX manufacturing, to achieve the optimal design and manufacture of the product.
Exhibit sound interpersonal skills when interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws.
Ability to take ownership of Design-To-Cost (DTC) objectives in order to optimize overall final price targets
