Role Overview:
The Network Engineer will support day-to-day operations and long-term growth of our networking systems, including wide area connectivity, local infrastructure, and wireless environments. This person will be responsible for troubleshooting connectivity issues, coordinating vendor installations, and implementing modern network configurations that support both security and performance. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in enterprise networking with a service mindset and a willingness to support a mission-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and maintain SD-WAN environments, with an emphasis on cloud-integrated and branch office connectivity
Manage and support core networking components including routing, switching, wireless access, and IP services
Oversee the procurement, installation, and activation of data circuits across new and existing locations
Work closely with internet service providers and equipment vendors to ensure seamless network deployments
Implement and support foundational services such as IP addressing, VLAN segmentation, NAT, DNS, and DHCP
Maintain access control policies, secure network interfaces, and assist in user and device-level network authentication
Use diagnostic tools and network management platforms to monitor system health and identify performance issues
Support wireless infrastructure including basic setup, access point deployment, and wireless security practices
Keep technical documentation up to date for all locations and systems
Participate in disaster recovery planning and network security initiatives
Provide hands-on assistance to staff and field teams when network escalations occur
Qualifications:
At least 3–4 years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on network engineering
Practical experience deploying and managing SD-WAN solutions (experience with Aruba platforms is a plus)
Proficiency with Cisco network environments, including:
Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching/routing
IP addressing, subnetting, dynamic routing (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP)
VPN setup and site-to-site connectivity
ACLs and firewall rule implementation
Troubleshooting with CLI tools in Cisco IOS
Experience coordinating circuit installations from initial planning through final deployment
Familiarity with Cisco ISE for identity-based access control and Cisco DNA Center for monitoring and provisioning
Strong organizational and communication skills when working with both internal stakeholders and external vendors
