Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer
Oakland, CA - Hybrid - 3 days onsite
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing and developing scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) tools and services, with a focus on Big Query, Apache Airflow, and Python.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using Apache Airflow and Python on Google Cloud Platform.
Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows for ingesting and transforming large volumes of structured and semi-structured data.
Leverage Big Query for data warehousing, optimization, and advanced SQL querying.
Optimize pipeline performance, cost, and scalability across cloud environments.
Integrate various Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Cloud Functions where needed.
Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure data quality and reliability.
Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to ensure data availability and proper modeling.
Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
6-10 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
Proficient in Python for scripting, data processing, and automation.
Strong experience with Google Big Query, including advanced SQL, performance tuning, and cost management.
Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for orchestrating complex data pipelines.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and deployment practices.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
