Position Overview:
We are seeking a MES Automation Support Engineer to support the development and deployment of a DeltaV MES (Syncade) platform, enabling fully digital manufacturing with integrated ERP, MES, and DCS systems at a cutting-edge CDMO site. This role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive paperless operations and enforce validated workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, configuration, and implementation of a DeltaV MES (Syncade) system tailored for a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Participate in project meetings alongside Automation and MES engineering teams, providing progress updates and technical insights.
- Review and provide input on system specifications and lifecycle documentation relating to:
- Electronic Document Management
- Bill of Materials, Parameters, and Tests (using XML documents)
- Order and Material Management
- Workflow Execution
- Electronic Batch Records (EBR)
- Quality Review workflows
- Weigh and Dispense operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as Automation, Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, Validation, and Utilities teams.
- Develop and execute testing strategies, including protocol creation and hands-on testing (infrastructure setup, software configuration, recipe creation, and User Acceptance Testing).
- Support validation efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year of experience working directly with Emerson DeltaV MES (Syncade) systems.
- Practical skills in:
- Troubleshooting configuration and functional issues within DeltaV MES.
- Deploying or migrating solution components across different Syncade environments.
- Familiarity with:
- Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Event Viewer.
- Regulated manufacturing operations, including cGMP standards, FDA compliance, S88 batch control, ISA-95 models, GAMP5, and 21 CFR Part 11.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred (Not Required):
- Exposure to scripting and database technologies (VB Script, XML/XPATH/XSLT, SQL/TSQL).
- Experience with digital validation tools like Kneat Gx or quality management systems such as TrackWise.
Familiarity with supporting systems such as Emerson DeltaV DCS, AVEVA PI System, and Informetric InfoBatch.
