Job Title: Lead Network Engineer / Manager
Location: Hybrid onsite (3-4 days per week) Vernon, CA (must live within 1 hour of this location)
- Experience in defining and executing multi-year technology roadmaps.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Deep technical expertise in WAN/SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN, BGP, cloud interconnects, and modern data center connectivity.
Must have:
- At least 3/4 years in a Network leadership role.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise networking, senior level Network Engineering roles
- Proven success in consolidating and modernizing network environments following mergers or acquisitions. (M&A experience)
Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Networking is responsible for leading the strategy, design, and execution of enterprise networking across a dynamic, multi-brand organization.
This position demands thorough knowledge in merging different technology setups that come from mergers and acquisitions, establishing consistent standards, and designing a secure, scalable network structure that enables sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and implement a comprehensive networking roadmap that standardizes and optimizes infrastructure across acquired companies.
- Drive consolidation of inherited technology platforms, balancing speed of integration with operational stability.
- Establish clear standards, architectures, and governance processes for LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and emerging technologies.
- M&A Integration Leadership
- Lead the technical integration of newly acquired companies' network environments into a cohesive enterprise design.
- Assess inherited technologies, identify overlaps or gaps, and develop phased consolidation plans.
- Partner with corporate development, IT, and security teams to ensure smooth transitions with minimal business disruption.
- Global Connectivity
- Architect and oversee the implementation of a scalable network strategy, leveraging SD-WAN, cloud interconnects, and resilient carrier services.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and cost across hybrid multi-site and cloud environments.
- Implement redundancy and high availability designs to ensure 24/7/365 business operations.
- Operational Excellence
- Direct the monitoring, incident response, and lifecycle management of enterprise network systems.
- Establish KPIs and SLAs for availability, performance, and security.
- Lead vendor negotiations, contracts, and partnerships for networks and managed services.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and mentor a high-performing networking team capable of executing on complex integration and transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to ensure alignment of network services with the overall IT strategy.
- Provide executive updates on networking strategy, risk, and performance.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise networking, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in consolidating and modernizing network environments following mergers or acquisitions. (M&A experience)
- Deep technical expertise in WAN/SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN, BGP, cloud interconnects, and modern data center connectivity.
- Experience in defining and executing multi-year technology roadmaps.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate technical outcomes into business impact.
- Hands-on keyboard is expected and required.
- A bachelor's Degree and Vendor Certification in networking are required.
- 15% Travel and On-Site portion of the time
