About the Role
We are seeking an experienced DBT Data Pipeline Developer to support a project focused on extracting, transforming, and loading Accounts Receivable (AR) data from Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) into Amazon Redshift. The resource will help build out our Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture, moving data from source to staging, and ultimately into a cleansed and modeled Gold Layer using a star schema design.
Responsibilities
Data Pipeline Development
- Develop DBT models and pipelines to extract and stage Oracle EBS AR data into Redshift.
- Build transformation logic in DBT to load curated data into a dimensional star schema model in the Gold Layer.
- Design and implement incremental models, materializations (views/tables), and data lineage.
Testing & Validation
- Implement and automate DBT tests for data quality, accuracy, and business logic across all layers (staging, core, mart).
- Validate record counts, AR balances, and business rules between EBS source and warehouse layers.
- Support unit, integration, and regression testing in DBT Cloud or equivalent CI/CD pipelines.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with data architects, analysts, and business users to gather requirements and deliver verified and governed datasets.
- Document models, data flows, and transformation logic using DBT s built-in documentation and version control.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting, monitoring, and improvements for production-grade pipelines.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience building ELT/ETL pipelines, with at least 1+ year of hands-on DBT development (DBT Core or DBT Cloud).
- Strong SQL development skills with the ability to work with large datasets in Amazon Redshift.
- Proven experience building curated and refactored dimensional/star schema models.
- Ability to write and maintain DBT tests, YAML metadata, macros, and documentation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline concepts and version control (Git).
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Oracle EBS data model knowledge, specifically for Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Experience with EBS modules or AR processes (e.g., invoices, payments, receipts, aging).
- Familiarity with Python, Airflow, or AWS Glue is a plus.
- Experience with enterprise data warehouses in a multi-layer architecture (bronze/silver/gold).
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical logic to business stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and self-driven able to work independently in an agile project team.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced consulting or client-facing environment.
Tools & Technologies
- DBT (required)
- Amazon Redshift
- Git (GitHub, GitLab, or equivalent)
- Oracle EBS (nice to have)
- AWS (S3, IAM, Glue or Lambda a plus)
