Role: Azure Data Engineer
Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: Long-term
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and other Azure services.
- Develop and maintain data models, data marts, and data lakes to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
- Collaborate with data analysts, business stakeholders, and software engineers to understand data requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and performance issues in Azure environments.
- Ensure data governance, data security, and compliance with best practices and regulations.
- Work with structured and unstructured data from various sources including on-premises and cloud systems.
- Automate data workflows and optimize data storage for performance and cost-efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Strong experience with Azure cloud services, including:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Synapse Analytics (or SQL Data Warehouse)
- Azure Data Lake Storage
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Functions
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or PySpark.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL best practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools within the Azure ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure Data Engineer Associate certification (DP-203) or equivalent.
- Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., Azure Purview).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
