Cisco LAN Architect
Onsite role in Sunnyvale CA
Contract
Responsibilities Work with the Managed Service Providers and internal stakeholders, build trust with stakeholders, and own the design process.
Analyses, monitor and tunes performance of strategic network LAN infrastructure.
Verify proper operation of network equipment, suggest improvements to performance, capacity, and scalability.
Maintains current documentation of network design, operation, and procedure manuals.
Experience with technologies including VSS, VPC, Performance Based Routing (PfR), OTV, IPSEC, NetFlow, SNMP and QOS as well as the following platforms NEXUS switches, and Cisco and Palo Alto Firewalls.
Demonstrated experience with Cisco IOS, routing, switching, and security products.
Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices
Monitor network performance and integrity
Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.
Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness Mentor team members on technical issues
Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery)
Communicate with users when needed
Maintain complete technical documentation Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
Qualifications
Mandatory Technical Skills
Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10 Years' experience
CCNP / CCIE Certification would be desirable.
Sound knowledge of IP Networking, LAN, WLAN, VoIP, SDN, SD-WAN.
In depth knowledge of network management, network availability and capacity planning.
Fine-tuning the network to enhance the performance for users.
Enterprise Wireless using Cisco Access Points, WLCs, ISE, Prime / DNA Center.
Experience of varied Wi-Fi deployments; Indoor/Outdoor Wi-Fi, Wireless Mesh
Cisco Switching (3850/3650/2960X/4500X) and associated technologies such as VTP, STP, VSS Cisco Data Centre Switching (Nexus 5K/7K/9K) and associated technology such as VPC and VDC, SDN ACI LAN Enterprise
Cisco R+S - Nexus / Catalyst Presales - HLD, BOMs, SOWs, Requirement Capture
Act as the glue between tech and sales
SDA, ACI, SD-WAN
Perform the most complex system analysis that includes requirements definition, interfacing with users and providing cost and benefit analysis.
Produce and maintain up to date network infrastructure technical documentation, diagrams, processes and procedures.
Responsible for firmware/software updates and managing maintenance renewal for all network infrastructure. Assist with new designs, installation and testing of IT systems and related network/peripherals within the company.
Keep current with networking technologies, make recommendations on solutions technologies that will enhance and optimise the network environment.
Create standards for I/T systems and services to provide flexibility and maintainability.
Lifecycle management
Provide resolution of critical situation technical problems.
Infoblox - DDI (DNS. DHCP, IPAM) Mandatory Non-Technical Skills
CCNP / CCIE Certification would be desirable.
Strong understanding of network security principles and associated technologies.
Analyzing workflow and security requirements and establishing the network.
Strong relationship-building capability
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven experience of managing an effective working relationship with audit departments, and challenging where appropriate
