Job Details

Role: Sr. Project Manager

Reporting Team: Delivery Mgmt Team

Project Team: Manufacturing tech team & Manufacturing business partners. 400Series division.

Reporting Structure: Marissa Kropp | Sr. ITS Manager

Location: Hybrid, mandatory 2 days a week onsite at Bayport

Team & Role Background:

This Sr. PM role will lead our 400Series Defend & Extend technical program team members.

Our current technical Sr. PM was redirected to another emergent project and so we need to backfill the role. A Product Owner is currently playing interim PM until we hire a contractor.

The 400Series Defend & Extend program consists of multiple product phases designed to stabilize the 400S sales trajectory (currently 3.1% CAGR) while maintaining margin neutrality. Initiated in 2024, the program saw its first product launch in October of that year. Several phases are running concurrently and will continue through 2027. Detailed phase information is available in the Business PM s status report below.

The 400Series Technical Program Manager will be responsible for guiding the technical delivery team through a range of complex challenges, including business capability mapping and architecture, Product Development Process (PDP) execution, advanced product configuration data, system integrations, and more.

Skillset Required:

Soft-Skills:

Navigate Ambiguity

  • Our company is undergoing significant transformation as part of a broader business expansion. This has resulted in substantial organizational changes that teams are actively managing alongside their day-to-day responsibilities and project commitments.
  • Project Management standards are currently in flux as we rebuild our previously established PMO, leading to variability in processes and expectations.

Given this environment, I need a Project Manager who can thrive amid ambiguity someone who can assess evolving situations, lead teams through complex and shifting workstreams, and escalate issues with clarity and precision when needed.

Strategic-Level Direction

  • This Project Manager must possess a strong understanding of technical architecture and be capable of driving the team toward solutioning, informed decision-making, and successful delivery.
  • The project will consistently center around manufacturing, supply chain, and product development strategy. Proven experience in these domains is essential for effectively leading the technical team and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Relationship building

  • Although the program is currently tracking green, it s essential that we sustain strong technical support and avoid any setbacks during this PM transition.
  • We need a Project Manager who can quickly earn the trust of both our business partners and technical teams, leveraging deep prior experience to establish credibility.
  • Our current PM brings over 20 years of Andersen MFG technical expertise, and the team may perceive a contractor replacement as a step down from the internal leadership they ve relied on. It s critical that the incoming PM demonstrates confidence, capability, and a strong grasp of the domain to ensure continuity and momentum.

Knowledge & Experience:

Program & Project mgmt basics:

  • The Project Manager should be able to assess team dynamics and scope complexity to implement appropriate program and project management practices and tools.
  • They must be capable of understanding, breaking down, and clearly reporting the status of deliverables across workstreams.
  • While I anticipate providing initial support such as access to templates or key contacts this PM must be self-directed, able to navigate independently, and confidently lead meetings, drive decisions, and manage execution without heavy oversight.

Finance Acumen:

  • The Project Manager will be expected to manage the program budget, requiring a solid understanding of basic capital management principles.

MFG, Supply Chain & Product Development Knowledge:

  • This Project Manager will be working closely with design and manufacturing engineers as well as supply chain architects on a daily basis. To effectively support and maintain delivery from the technical team, it is essential that the PM has prior experience in manufacturing environments and understands the nuances of cross-functional collaboration in this space.
