Description:
Our client, a leader in biotechnology, has an excellent opportunity for an Senior Software Test Engineer to work on a 6-month contract opportunity. Work will be a hybrid on-site/remote schedule in San Diego, CA. The Senior Software Test Engineer will perform manual and automation testing for web applications that interface with medical devices.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $58 - $73 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:
- Work cross functionally with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality to develop and execute software verification test approaches for manufacturing equipment, automation, and systems.
- Drive efforts in designing, performing, and improving verification tests.
- Assist in the definition, capture and documentation of user needs and system requirements.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating in a fast-paced team environment and delivering high-quality software products using established agile development methodologies (such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.) against formal schedules.
- Collaborate with peers to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Utilize defect tracking and version control tools as an integral part of the software life cycle development process (such as Jira and Git).
- Utilize SQA skills to write verification plans, test protocols, test reports, and requirements traceability matrices in accordance with the company's established SDLC methodology.
- Perform functional and integration testing on the Tool Equipment in the Manufacturing Lab.
- Lead the architecture, development and execution of automated test suites and manual test cases.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate applicability of new software testing technologies.
- Occasionally provide technical assistance for escalated production issues.
- Work collaboratively with external providers of automation and manufacturing equipment to ensure fit-for-purpose software that meets MTT and Illumina requirements.
- Participate in software requirement and design reviews.
- Participate in Peer review of test cases and automation scripts
- Maintain Automation scripts and daily regression Jenkins jobs
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of working experience with software or system verification.
- 5+ years of writing detailed test cases from the user story and requirements provided with no documentation error.
- 5+ years of experience in manual testing and tracking results.
- Writing verification plan and software verification report and all aspects of documentation required for formally releasing a product.
- Proven capability of implementing defect tracking, test case management, requirement management or traceability tools.
- 5+ years of experience in UI and API Automation.
- Experience in Selenium/Ranorex, Rest Assured and Cucumber Framework
- 2+ years of working experience in source control management (such as GIT) and industry standard CI/CD practices.
- 5+ years of experience with a defect tracking system such as Jira.
- Possess object-oriented programming skills in languages such as Java, C# etc.
- Possess strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Experience with Visual Studio, IntelliJ/Eclipse, DB Visualizer, Ranorex, Jenkins/GHA DevOps
Education Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
