Job Details

The Platform Emerging Technology team is a collection of engineers focused on providing enablement and acceleration for other teams that are delivering products which leverage emergent technologies. The Emerging Technology team enhances high quality outcomes through the delivery of foundational products that meet the scale and agility of the business while maintaining its robust security posture.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Drive the implementation and refinement of a cutting-edge framework, deployed on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) within Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), empowering development teams to seamlessly integrate with Generative AI technologies.
  • Champion best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, and documentation, to ensure a robust and reliable framework for internal and external developers.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to understand their needs and integrate the framework effectively, fostering a smooth and efficient development experience.
  • Drive innovation by researching and implementing the latest advancements in Generative AI and cloud technologies, enhancing the framework's capabilities and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Provides technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members and delivers product backlog items.
  • Understands low-level designs, uses software design patterns, and effectively incorporates those designs into the larger platform ecosystem.
  • Influences best practice development, delivers knowledge assets, and contributes to process enhancements.
  • Fosters collaboration across diverse teams and effectively communicates technical concepts to less-technical stakeholders.
  • Influences outcomes which accelerate the efficiency of others while ensuring high quality results.


Skills and Software Requirements:
  • 5+ years of strong programming experience in more than one industrial programming language, i.e. Python, Go, Scala, Java, C#, C++, etc.
  • Familiarity with best practices in data engineering, data science, and/or AI/MLOps.
  • Substantial experience with one of the big three cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred) and its AI/ML platform.
  • Substantial experience with containers, container orchestration, CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure as code.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to properly prioritize work effectively.
