Job Details

As a SENIOR DATABASE ENGINEER, you will be responsible for designing, managing, optimizing, and securing our database infrastructure across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AWS cloud environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring database reliability, scalability, and performance while implementing high availability, disaster recovery, and automation strategies. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in database internals, cloud-native architectures, and thrives in a fast-paced FinTech environment.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of database administration experience with at least 5 years in PostgreSQL and MySQL production environments.

Requirements:
  • Extensive AWS cloud experience, including Amazon RDS, Aurora (PostgreSQL/MySQL), and EC2-based database deployments.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning tools (EXPLAIN ANALYZE, pg_stat_statements, MySQL Performance Schema).
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Demonstrated ability to write automation scripts in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with database security, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance in financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, or similar platforms.
  • AWS Certified Database - Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certification highly desirable.
  • Experience with containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database changes using tools like Flyway or Liquibase preferred.
