Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor, Production Maintenance to join our team in Edgewood, NY. In this role, you will supervise the Production Technical Support Department, providing leadership and hands-on mechanical support to ensure continuous production operations. This position reports to the Manager / Senior Director, Production Technical Support.


Work Schedule

  • Monday Friday, 6:00 PM 2:30 AM (off-peak)

  • Monday Friday, 6:00 PM 6:00 AM (on-peak)

  • 10% shift differential applied


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support production mechanics to ensure uninterrupted workflow and timely equipment repairs

  • Provide mechanical and technical support for production, insertion, and bindery equipment

  • Maintain personnel records for all direct reports and oversee departmental compliance

  • Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure all equipment maintenance is completed on time

  • Manage parts inventory, including vendor coordination, cost tracking, and ordering

  • Ensure accurate completion of work orders, maintenance logs, and departmental documentation

  • Stay current on new technologies and equipment used within production and technical support operations

  • Assume full departmental management responsibilities in the absence of the Department Manager

  • Drive cost efficiency by meeting or exceeding Cost Per Unit (CPU) targets, including labor, overtime, and inventory control

  • Monitor and maximize machine throughput and production efficiency

  • Reward, recognize, and discipline team members in accordance with company policies


Qualifications

  • Associate s degree or Technical / Trade School certification

  • 5+ years of experience operating and repairing production equipment

  • Strong experience with insertion and bindery equipment

  • Knowledge of electronic and electrical circuits; electrical/electronics repair experience preferred

  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Jet / IQ

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment
