Description

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Tallahassee, Florida. This long-term contract position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in managing and optimizing network infrastructures, ensuring reliable connectivity and robust security for organizational systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to design, implement, and maintain advanced network solutions, while collaborating effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including telecommunications systems.
Develop and enforce security protocols to safeguard data, systems, and user access across the network.
Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and networking products to support organizational objectives.
Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize system functionality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless connectivity and secure access for users.
Plan and execute network upgrades and integrate new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
Document network configurations and create detailed reports for compliance and planning purposes.
Diagnose and resolve network problems using appropriate tools and methodologies.
Manage multiple priorities effectively, working independently and applying sound technical judgment.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or related roles.
Proficiency in network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and security principles.
Hands-on experience with network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto).
Strong problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving network issues using monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
Familiarity with fiber optic installations and structured cabling.
Solid understanding of network security concepts, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
Experience supporting cloud-based or hybrid network environments.
Ability to design and implement scalable network solutions tailored to organizational needs.
