RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Technical Business Analyst in Maryland Heights, MO.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly technical Business Systems Analyst to join a core IT team supporting large-scale customer communication platforms (Email, SMS, outbound dialing). This role is ideal for a former developer or template developer who enjoys translating complex business requirements into functional specifications for development teams. The Analyst will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, platform architects, and development teams-dissecting requirements, creating precise documentation, and ensuring technical feasibility across APIs, payloads, and parameter mapping.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Analysis & Documentation:
* Translate business requirement documents (BRDs) and mockups into detailed functional requirements for developers
* Work with architects and backend teams to define payload structures, perform parameter mapping, and document all technical details
* Produce clear, developer-ready documentation that enables backend, frontend, and QA teams to execute builds with minimal gaps
Cross-Team Collaboration:
* Partner with architects to design solutions for automated customer messaging (Email/SMS/AutoCall)
* Coordinate with external teams providing data payloads; Validate payload formats, mappings, and dependencies
* Support end-to-end project delivery by escalating blockers and ensuring requirements flow smoothly into technical execution
Technical Engagement:
* Review and understand complex SQL queries; Write simple to advanced queries for validation and analysis
* Work with APIs (real-time data requests), SFTP structures (non-real-time data exchange), and Kafka feeds (event streaming)
* Contribute technical insight to solution design and ensure documentation accounts for full system dependencies
REQUIREMENTS:
* Prior experience as a developer or in a highly technical analyst role
* Hands-on experience with: API calls (real-time integrations); SFTP file structures (batch data exchange); Kafka feed requirements (event streaming); Relational databases and SQL (ability to read complex queries and write effective queries)
* Strong documentation skills with attention to accuracy and clarity
* Strong ability to analyze, dissect, and rewrite business requirements into technical deliverables
* Ability to conceptualize the -big picture- beyond individual project tasks
* Self-starter mindset; Able to independently seek out knowledge, escalate issues, and drive tasks to completion
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience writing HTML templates
* Background in messaging platforms (Email, SMS, outbound dialers)
* Industry experience in cable or MSO environments
