The Workstation Support Specialist will be responsible for configuring, installing, and maintaining desktop software and hardware while providing technical support and guidance to users. This role ensures workstation stability, security compliance, and effective troubleshooting across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Type: Full-time, onsite

  • Schedule: 5 days per week

  • Location: Columbia, SC

  • Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen


Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Experience: 2 years of technical operations or IT support experience

  • Skills:

    • Ability to provide end-user computing and desktop support across LAN systems

    • Knowledge of operating system imaging concepts

    • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and customer service skills

    • Ability to provide on-the-spot training and recommendations on hardware/software selections

  • Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Teams, Office, Excel, Windows

Preferred:

  • Certifications: CompTIA A+ or higher

  • Experience: Exposure to infrastructure support or multi-platform environments


Responsibilities

  • Monitor, update, and resolve tickets within the dispatch system

  • Configure, install, and maintain workstation hardware and software

  • Ensure adherence to security standards and perform routine data backups

  • Document system configurations and support procedures for improved resolution time

  • Test, troubleshoot, and maintain software application packages

  • Manage PC imaging and deployment processes

  • Collaborate with internal customers to assess and define PC requirements

  • Perform administrative tasks such as reporting, ordering replacement parts, and tracking inventory

  • Stay current with new workstation support technologies

  • Provide consultation and training to end users as needed


Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, multi-platform environment requiring flexibility to support business needs

  • May involve transporting items up to 30 lbs routinely and up to 70 lbs occasionally
