RESPONSIBILITIES:
A client with Kforce is seeking a Data Scientist III to join their team in San Diego, CA.

Overview:
In this role, you will lead experimentation, apply advanced statistical methods, and craft data-driven narratives that inform senior leadership and guide decision-making. You will partner closely with business operations, product, and engineering teams to evaluate program performance, design causal models, and deliver insights that drive efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role also provides the opportunity to collaborate with fellow data scientists and analysts in a highly innovative environment delivering solutions that directly impact customer journeys, operational readiness, and revenue growth.

Duties Include:
* Performs business analysis using various techniques (e.g., statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining)
* Determines best practices and develops actionable insights and recommendations for the current business operations
* Works directly with the internal or external client to identify analytical requirements
* May help to produce ad hoc data and reports
* May assist in implementing or developing systems to capture business operation information
* May occasionally guide less experienced business data analysts
* Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of A/B and other experimental methodologies to evaluate program and product performance
* Apply advanced statistical techniques including Bayesian methods and causal inference to uncover insights that improve customer experience, reduce friction in assisted flows, and drive measurable revenue outcomes
* Partner with cross-functional leaders to define success metrics, establish robust measurement frameworks, and ensure clear alignment on how outcomes are tracked and communicated
* Collaborate closely with data engineering teams to guide the development and maintenance of reliable data marts that enable scalable, trustworthy analysis

REQUIREMENTS:
* 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
* Proven ability to extract insights from data and communicate compelling data-driven stories that drive business impact
* Excellent SQL skills for data extraction, manipulation, and pipeline development
* Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik)
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
* Strong problem-solving and end-to-end quantitative thinking skills
* Passion for mentorship and developing talent within the team
* Proactive and growth-oriented mindset-you identify opportunities for innovation rather than just responding to problems
* Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics, modeling, and automation is a plus
* Familiarity with big data tools (e.g., Snowflake, Spark, Databricks) is a plus
* Machine learning and Generative AI experience is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
