Job Details
This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
At Boeing, we are all innovators on a mission to connect, protect, explore and inspire. From the sea bed to outer space, you'll learn and grow, contributing to work that shapes the world. Find your future with us.
Boeing Missile and Weapons System division, Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Sustainment Programs is seeking a highly motivated Test & Evaluation Engineer to support Little Mountain Test Facility (LMTF) Radiation Labs.
Primary Responsibilities:
General ability to work with a team to conduct a test, monitor progress of the test, and record test activities while being able to accommodate, troubleshoot, and/or maintain any unforeseen events that occur during the test.
General knowledge in the operation, integration, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of test equipment.
General knowledge across a wide range of radiation effects and electronic, electrical, and/or software engineering disciplines (e.g. analog and digital circuit design, electromagnetic interference (EMI), pulsed power, embedded software and microprocessor-based system designs).
Develops test debrief material, evaluates test performance data against known requirements. Collects test data and provides recommendation to break and/or alter configuration. Performs special test procedures as required to support failure investigation. Prepares for next test activities or events based on results. Conducts reallocation, disposition or refurbishment of test articles and assets.
Designs component and sub-assembly level hardware or software as specified by the Statement of Work. Uses analytical tools to verify the design. Assists in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware.
Generates simple test plans or aspects of more complex plans. Interfaces with internal contacts, decomposes information from requirements and Statements of Work to formulate basic test approaches. Reviews standards and regulations to assess the impact on the test plan.
Prepares test configuration work instructions and detailed change orders. Coordinates the staging of test hardware. Participates in test readiness reviews, safety reviews and data/control systems checkout to minimize risk. Performs calibrations and system check-out/validation to satisfy test requirements. Configures software for data acquisition and analysis. Prepares daily execution plans for effective use of all test resources.
General knowledge of test stand configuration control procedure required to prepare for a given test. This requires the use of configuration control management process to track and maintain test stand configuration. General ability to configure the test stand using test requirements gathered from test plans, government regulations, and safety rules.
General knowledge of design of experimental models, mechanisms, prototypes, test rigs and fixtures, test equipment, and load measurement devices. Includes mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatics systems design. Knowledge of machine shop tools and processes. Ability to integrate wide range of test instrumentation (e.g., strain, pressure, and temperature). Utilizes analytical tools.
Required Skills:
Firm knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles
Experience electrical testing of components
Experience computer programming for electrical test
Experience using and configuring test instrumentation
Familiarity with electrical parameters of Integrated Circuits
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge and use of National Instruments LabVIEW programming
Experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout
Analog Circuit Design
Digital Circuit Design
Project Management Skills
Experience with radiation testing
Understanding, updating, and using engineering processes
Education: Bachelors in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering
