Role: Aerospace/ Aircraft/ Avionics Project Engineer
Location: SeaTac, WA 98158 (onsite 4 day a week, remote 1 day)
Contract Length: 3 years
Pay Range: $75.75 to $82.75/hr
Hiring Process: Two rounds one with the hiring manager and one technical interview
About the Role
- We re looking for a Project Engineer with hands-on aerospace experience.
- This person will be directly involved in supporting aircraft modifications, cabin upgrades, and fleet transitions.
- A big part of the job is translating engineering data into actionable work instructions through TRAX task cards/guards while making sure all modifications meet FAA and STC requirements.
- Success in this role comes down to a mix of technical skill and collaboration. Y
- ou ll be working across teams engineering, maintenance, supply chain, flight ops, and external vendors to keep projects moving and compliant.
What You ll Do:
- Lead and support aircraft modification projects, including cabin interiors, in-flight connectivity (Wi-Fi/satellite), avionics, and structural updates.
- Interpret and review engineering drawings, OEM documents, and vendor-provided instructions.
- Translate technical data into TRAX task cards/guards for configuration changes.
- Manage project progress and task tracking inside TRAX.
- Coordinate with internal teams (maintenance, fleet engineering, supply chain, flight operations) as well as OEMs, MROs, and vendors.
- Ensure all projects comply with FAA Part 121 and Part 25 regulations.
- Provide on-site technical support during installations and modifications.
- Lead design reviews and deliver updates to stakeholders.
What You ll Need:
- Bachelor s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of project engineering experience within an airline or aerospace setting.
- Strong knowledge of Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives.
- Hands-on experience working with TRAX task guards.
- Solid understanding of FAA Part 121 and Part 25 regulations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Aerospace engineering background is a must.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with aircraft (737, 787, A330, A321).
- Background in cabin interior projects and in-flight connectivity systems.
- Experience in plant engineering projects.
