Title: Network Manager
Location : Remote - Part time. ~20 hours per week
Target Start Date : ASAP
Type: Contract
The Network Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of our client's network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role ensures secure, scalable, and high-performing connectivity for academic and administrative operations. The Network Manager leads network initiatives, collaborates across departments, and drives innovation in infrastructure technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Advanced certifications in networking or cloud technologies are preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in enterprise networking, including installation, configuration, and support of modern network infrastructure.
Demonstrated expertise in cloud networking, virtualization, and hybrid environments.
Skills:
Proficiency in configuring and managing Layer 2/3 switches, next-generation firewalls, wireless controllers, and SD-WAN solutions.
Experience with cloud-based networking platforms and hybrid architectures.
Ability to automate network operations using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell.
Familiarity with network monitoring and performance tools.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and technologies, including Zero Trust, VPN, NAC, and IDS/IPS.
Experience supporting desktop and server operating systems in both on-prem and cloud environments.
Knowledge of virtualization and container networking technologies.
Ability to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain network infrastructure supporting academic and administrative systems.
Design, document, and implement scalable and secure network architectures.
Install, configure, and support network hardware and software across hybrid environments.
Manage network access, internet services, and file/print services.
Oversee backup and disaster recovery systems for network infrastructure.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure high availability and performance of College-wide systems.
Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and cloud services for infrastructure improvements.
Manage procurement and vendor coordination for networking components.
Provide technical support and training to end users, including documentation and workshops.
Coordinate infrastructure upgrades and cabling projects with contractors.
Participate in College committees and contribute to strategic IT planning and innovation.
