Title: Windows System Administrator
Location: Houston, TX ( Fully Onsite for 5 Days )
Duration: Long Term
Job Description
The qualified candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and maintaining all enterprise servers in all domains
- Architecting solutions for issues, process improvement as needed
- Participate in monthly Server Patching responsibilities as needed
- Automating and/or writing/editing scripts to automate job functions and processes
- Cross-training with others/information sharing with others/documenting all processes as needed
- Supporting other team members with various administrative functions and troubleshooting efforts
- Working incident, tasks, change requests and server new builds assigned to team
- Troubleshooting server issues and problems to resolution
- Interfacing with other IT teams as needed
- Provide technical services for projects as needed
The candidate will possess the following skill set:
- Ability to handle multiple workloads at the same time/multi-task
- 3 to 5 years of working experience with supporting large enterprise server environments
- 2+ years of experience with scripting tools; such as PowerShell, reading and writing scripts
- 2+ years of working experience with SCOM or SolarWinds or other monitoring tools
- 2+ years of working experience with SCCM, specifically server patching and reporting
- Experience working with SQL and writing SQL queries
- Experience with backup technologies like Veeam, Commvault or Rubrik
- Working knowledge of Printer Logic, Double Take, ServiceNow, Grafana, FTP, DFS, AD 2019, Windows Server 2012 R2 thru 2025, SharePoint, working with Secure Networks/environments, File Server upgrades, replacements, migrations and decommissions.
Nice to have:
- Experience with VMWare/Hyper-V/virtual environments
- Experience with Backup tools
- Experience with Beyond Trust least privilege user scenario's
- Experience with Application packaging and deployments
- Experience with RedHat Linux
- Experience with automation technologies such as Puppet, Ansible Tower or RPA
Required Soft Skills:
- Able to think outside the box to solve issues and/or create new solutions
- Great customer service skills and willingness to cross-train
- Be a team player and willing to work in small to large groups as needed
- Able to document processes and procedures/tech writer
- Possess great work ethic and is easy to work with
