ECS is seeking a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer to work in our Fairfax, VA office.
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer to serve as an individual contributor within our Enterprise Services team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for proactively identifying, prioritizing, and remediating security vulnerabilities across a diverse technology stack. This includes on-premises systems, cloud environments, network devices, and more. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including security analysts, IT operations, development teams, and third-party vendors, to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of security best practices, risk assessment methodologies, patch management processes, and be proficient in using vulnerability management tools. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding our organization's systems and data against evolving cyber threats.
Responsibilities
Apply security patches, configuration changes, and other hardening measures to endpoints, network devices, and applications in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
Execute remediation tasks with precision and attention to detail to minimize disruption.
Document all remediation activities clearly and comprehensively following change management guidelines.
Participate in security configuration assessments of new environments in accordance with industry best practices and benchmarks.
Collaborate effectively with enterprise stakeholders to provide regular status updates and address any challenges that arise during the remediation process.
Tier 3 escalation path for complex issues with a willingness to fully comprehend the root cause of an incident. Engage with other teams, vendors, and contributors as necessary.

Required Skills
- Vulnerability Management Lifecycle: A deep understanding of the entire vulnerability management process, including identification, assessment, prioritization, remediation, and validation.
- Familiarity with a diverse range of solutions, including on-premise systems, cloud environments, network devices, hypervisors, and firewalls.
- Proactiveness and continuous learning: A genuine interest in technology, a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security issues, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- An excellence driven approach to all aspects of information systems management.
Desired Skills
- Proven experience performing vulnerability remediation on all system types, including: Windows workstations and servers, Linux endpoints, Broadcom products, Palo Alto firewalls, and other systems.
- Experience with endpoint management technologies such as the Microsoft SCCM, Intune, Jamf MDM, BigFix, Ivanti UEM, and more.
- Experience with DISA STIGS, CMMC, CIS Level 1 and 2.
- Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, AZ-104, MD-102 or LPI.
- Familiarity with configuration management, file integrity monitoring (FIM), and configuration drift detection.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (management, development, teams, system owners). This includes drafting reports, giving presentations, and documenting procedures.
- Experience with automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and others.
