About the Role | Client is looking for a for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and efficient test automation frameworks and quality engineering strategies. This role combines deep technical expertise in software testing and automation with the ability to drive QA architecture and influence engineering quality across the organization. |
Job Responsibilities | Define and own the overall test automation architecture and strategy across teams and platforms. Design and implement scalable and reusable test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure. Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product stakeholders to define testability and quality goals. Evaluate, recommend, and implement new testing tools and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Guide and mentor SDETs and QA engineers on automation best practices, coding standards, and framework usage. Drive the integration of test automation into CI/CD pipelines. Establish code quality and coverage metrics and ensure alignment with business goals. Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure high quality, performance, and reliability. Develop strategies for performance, load, security, and reliability testing at scale. Advocate for a quality-first approach throughout the SDLC.

Required Education | Masters or Engineering degree |
Required Experience | 12+ years of experience in software testing with at least 3 years in a test automation or quality architecture role. Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript. Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, TestNG, JUnit). Deep understanding of API testing tools and techniques (e.g., REST Assured, Postman, Pact). Strong experience integrating tests with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions). Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling). Familiarity with modern development and deployment practices including Agile, DevOps, and Shift-Left Testing.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with test data management and service virtualization. Background in secure coding and security testing practices. ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or equivalent certification. Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, automotive). Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across teams. Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Passion for quality and driving engineering excellence at scale.
