Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and technically adept leader to oversee release engineering efforts across hybrid cloud environments. This role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, DevOps platforms, and cloud-native technologies spanning AWS, IBM iSeries/zSeries, and large-scale public cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional settings, excels in both business and technical communication, and is passionate about mentoring teams, scaling platforms, and embedding reliability and security into everything they build.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, reliable DevOps CI/CD platforms across hybrid environments.
  • Manage large-scale implementations of Source Code Management (SCM) and Code Management Systems (CMS).
  • Define and enforce best practices for branching, deployment, configuration, and artifact management to ensure consistent, repeatable releases.
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve system availability, performance, and scalability.
  • Collaborate across development and infrastructure teams to build and integrate a curated toolchain supporting enterprise delivery needs.
  • Troubleshoot full-stack infrastructure issues across cloud, on-prem, containers, networking, identity, and operating systems.
  • Ensure infrastructure and pipelines follow security best practices, from development through production.
  • Implement proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to quickly detect and resolve issues.
  • Lead system performance tuning, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization aligned to SLOs.
  • Drive security assessments, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
  • Partner with operations on incident response and lead root cause analysis and post-mortem reviews to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Business Administration, or a related technical field (Master s preferred).
  • Extensive experience with AWS and hybrid cloud architectures, including scaling and automation of platform services.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing high-performing technical teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Expertise with modern platform technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Cloud Foundry.
  • Strong grasp of IT financial models and experience managing budgets aligned to business goals.
  • Broad knowledge of open-source tools, distribution engines, and modern DevOps ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale transformation and platform modernization initiatives.
