The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Network Designer to join the team in Kings Mountain, NC; Quincy, WA; or Phoenix, AZ.
Boeing Information Technology is seeking a talented and innovative Network Designer to lead the team responsible to implement network infrastructure solutions that support the servers, storage, security, and applications in Boeing data centers.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of networking technologies, architecture, and security, combined with proficiency in Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto data center platforms. In addition to leading a small Boeing team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and sourcing partners to ensure high performance and availability of the data center networks.

Position Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders, Network Designers, Information Security, sourcing partners, and vendors to deliver solutions for Boeing's data center networks
- Leads the Boeing data center network team which performs the identification, analysis, and documentation of requirements for data center network designs, service objectives, cost and security constraints and leads the design processes to see those strategies implemented
- Oversees the statement of work and the operational implementation of the primary sourcing vendor
- Creates, documents, oversee, and approve designs that conform to architectural and security standards to meet business requirements, using approved processes, policies and PRO's
- Prepares, deploys, and coordinates and oversees installation of complex implementation packages per Boeing standards
- Provides Level 3 and 4 Incident/Problem Management support in preventative, proactive and reactive maintenance to meet service restoration and service availability objectives, using analytics, monitoring tools and automation
- Leads vendor and component research evaluations and recommendations to establish architectural direction and technical roadmaps
- Leads and performs implementation planning for tactical multi-technology insertion projects, using established project management methodologies for the purpose of controlling quality, costs, and adherence to standards
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 10+ years of experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst, Arista (including CloudVision), and Palo Alto technologies
- 10+ years of experience with networking, IP addressing, and IP network troubleshooting
- 10+ years of experience with Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol services (DHCP), and Internet Protocol Address Management (IPAM) technology and systems
- 10+ years of experience in network configuration management and change management
- 5+ years of experience as a team lead in a highly technical and operational network
- 5+ years of experience overseeing and working with vendors, providing network support
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with Boeing's suite of network monitoring tools and their integration with the IT Operations Center
- Experience supporting ethernet virtual private network technology (EVPN)
- Advanced certifications in Cisco and/or Arista technologies.
