Description

The Role:

The Industrial Engineer Ergonomist will work directly with production in implementing safe solutions for the operator.

What You'll Do:

As an Ergonomist, you will be responsible for leading the implementation, continuous improvement, driving innovation for Ergonomics within the Spring Hill site in an effort to reduce injuries.

The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment will be critical to your success. You will be collaborating with other engineering disciplines, operations team members, packaging engineering, as well as outside suppliers and UAW representatives.

Attributes and skills needed to be successful in this position include, strong analytic and problem-solving skills, growth mindset, strategic thinker, strong communication skills, high integrity and empathy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Course work in ergonomics
  • Warehousing, logistics, manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years of experience with ergonomic analytical tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the UAW
  • Ability to travel (monthly) as required during the work week to support buyoffs of equipment and to review future model builds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and execute ergonomic studies and projects
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and/or site
  • High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with multiple customers at the same time
