Our Challenge:
We are seeking an experienced API .NET Architect to lead the design and development of our API ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of API design principles, .NET technologies, and microservices architecture. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our APIs are scalable, secure, and efficient, meeting the needs of our internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Information:
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Minneapolis, MN or Atlanta, GA is $120K-$130K /year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design and architect robust, high-performance APIs using .NET technologies.
- Develop API specifications and documentation, ensuring clarity and usability for developers.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to define API requirements and user stories.
- Lead the implementation of best practices for API development, including versioning, security, and error handling.
- Perform code reviews and provide mentorship to development teams on API-related topics.
- Monitor and optimize API performance, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to API development and .NET frameworks.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the overall technology strategy of the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on .NET technologies.
- Over 3+ years as API .NET Architect experience to lead the design and development of our API ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of API design principles, .NET technologies, and microservices architecture.
- Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Proficiency in C#, .NET Core, and related frameworks.
- Experience with API management tools and platforms (e.g., Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway).
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with GraphQL and/or gRPC.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
