Software Engineer II (Observability Engineer)

Hybrid Greenwood Village, CO

We are seeking an Observability Engineer to design and implement comprehensive monitoring solutions for enterprise-scale network infrastructure running on AWS. The engineer will work across teams to build dashboards, alerts, and automated observability pipelines using Splunk Enterprise, Datadog, and Grafana.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement observability dashboards and alerting for AWS-based services.
  • Develop and maintain APM, NPM, and SNMP monitoring solutions for large-scale network systems.
  • Automate log aggregation, alerting, and performance monitoring using Python and Bash scripting.
  • Collaborate with software and infrastructure teams to embed observability into applications and systems.
  • Maintain monitoring infrastructure through version control using Git and automation pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk Enterprise, Datadog, and Grafana.
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure (CloudWatch, EC2, ECS, Lambda, networking, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation and monitoring tasks.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring, telemetry, and SNMP-based systems.
  • Experience using Git for source control and configuration management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development, operations, and SRE teams to improve system visibility and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale WiFi or network performance monitoring environments.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code principles and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to OpenTelemetry or similar observability frameworks.
  • Background in telecommunications, cloud networking, or large distributed systems.
